John Kerry
Related: About this forumIt looks like there is no more Johnkerry.com
Over the weekend, I tried to access johnkerry.com to get a link to something from the past and got a message that it was "offline". The same today.
I guess this is part of JK moving away from being political, but it is kind of bittersweet. Oddly, this little change made me understand the sadness (though being happy for him) that some of the MA residents have expressed. It will be a huge change not to have his dynamic presence in the Senate.

(27,315 posts)and his Twitter account (as well as David Wade) have been silent since the day his nomination has been announced.
I agree that it is strange, but I hope we will get another great Senator in exchange. Senator Markey!! One of the good things is that many of the same interests (aside foreign policy) that Kerry was following are also interests of Markey (from healthcare to telecommunications/Internet to global warming).
But yes, he will be missed.

(59,990 posts)He does seem to concentrated in many of the (non foreign policy) things Kerry did. I remember watching a Senate hearing on a bill to help provide tools needed by the deaf where Markey, who sponsored the bill in the House, was the witness. (googling it was this - http://www.coataccess.org/node/9313 ) Tay Tay had posted to let us know of the hearing. She had encouraged someone affected to speak to Kerry's staff, which she helped to connect him to.

Sorry that DU formatting interprets the asterisk in the link as a break in the URL -- you'll have to copy and paste vs. clicking.
