Kerry and Lavrov finally have a deal

Oddly one of the best articles was from a French source. I am eternally grateful that the internet translates things because mt French was not good enough. https://www.letemps.ch/monde/2016/09/09/john-kerry-joue-credibilite-geneve?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=article

Early in the day, as Kerry went, the top article on the negotiations on twitter was a Wall Street Journal article that spoke of what a bad hand Kerry had to negotiate from. http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2016/09/09/in-syria-talks-with-russia-john-kerrys-hand-is-missing-a-key-card/

The French article explains what a tough lift this deal was not just with Russia, but with the State Department, Ash Carter, the various people in Obama's national security council. For months, it has been obvious that Kerry has motivated by the depth of disaster that is Syria. Though he was always - from the point he first entered this - been for a diplomatic solution, I think seeing the babies and kids killed motivated him to stay strong and fight for what everyone called a long shot. I hope and pray that the Syrians opt to use the opportunity well and end the civil war.

As a supporter of Kerry, I am extremely proud of how intelligently and persistently he has fought to try to give peace a chance here. No matter how this goes, he clearly put his heart, soul, energy and intelligence to making this happen.
