Rachel Maddow interviews Joe Biden

Last edited Fri Feb 19, 2016, 07:03 AM - Edit history (1)

Full video (and text) at http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/biden-trump-v-pope-not-hard-call?

He discusses Pope Francis and Trump (a short bit at the very beginning, then a longer discussion near the end, starting at about 30-31 minutes: worth watching the latter for Biden's facial expression alone : )), infrastructure, the cancer initiative, the Supreme Court, and more.

Most interesting question of the night -- Rachel said MSNBC had heard from a "source" in the Senate that President Obama may be considering nominating Joe Biden to the Supreme Court. Seems unlikely to me for several reasons, but hey...it's a question. I expected Joe to laugh and tell her it's an absurd idea.

Instead, his response was to say -- "I have no desire to be on the Supreme Court." Not we haven't discussed it, not I wouldn't do it, not oh-don't-be-silly-Rachel. Just-- "I have no desire to be on the Supreme Court."

Hmmm. Not exactly a Shermanesque denial, eh?
