I got the same call that I got 30 or 40 times..

Some special deal on "electricity." If I switch to this other company, I will save 25 percent.. I pick up the phone and listened. I know the exact language, and after 4 or 5 words, and l heard the same voice, I hung up. Why? call me 4o times. I have asked them to take my number off the list,,and they said they would, but they didn't....So what is the deal?

...It is simple, that company doesn't give a crap about taking people off the list. They know a certain number of calls, will result in a sale, and certain number of repeat calls will also result in a sale. It may be a very small number,..but the owner of the company knows there will be a sale at some point. If not from me, from someone else..looking for a "special deal on "electricity"...

How do I know?...simple, ......If this scam didn't work, that company would be ....OUT OF BUSINESS ...that is no more calls. ...................but....................................I keep getting these calls.........Why?..................

The company is making money this way......, that is why.........If this wasn't working, they would be out of business...oh....so you don't thin that is it????

What about "Toys are Us"?....out of business.. why? not making money...why? cheaper toys elsewhere..
What about certain "department stores"?...........out of business..not making money...Why?..cheaper stuff elsewhere...........Nash- Rambler..made cars.. those did not sell..no more..

If this scam did not work, and the company did not con people...that company would be out of business..But they are still in business, making those robo calls..For several years....same call...special deal on electric service....You may not fall for it, but some people do.....if they didn't, this company would be out of business.

But.......It is still in business.....

NOMOREROBO, I have been using it for quite a while now and it does work.
Phone rings once and then stops - goodbye telemarketer.

start again..I do not have a land line - some calls come through on mobil - I put on block when they do..and go online and report the number..

Even though we may be on the donotcall.gov list..some telemarketers have a call system whereby they dump numbers in sequence and calls are made automatically...(worked in operations, call center..major telco..we used this automated call system..but only numbers, due for overdue accounts, were loaded..for collections..

good luck..most annoying...

Criminals do not care about the federal Do Not Call registry. I have not received a legitimate telemarketing call in many years (the legitimate businesses obey the law).

If they are willing to break that law, you have to wonder what other laws are they willing to break, and why in the world would anyone trust them with any personal or financial information.

I use an Ooma VOIP phone system, which has a very robust blocking feature (I can block by name - 'unavailable' is a good choice, number, or partial number). It also includes a link into the NoMoRobo service, and they have a 'community blacklist' that automatically blocks calls from numbers if a certain number of people have already reported and blocked that number.

Where we used to get 4 or 5 scammer calls a week, we are now down to maybe one every 2 or 3 weeks.
