Went from working on the floors with constant interaction with staff to being behind a computer & doing conference calls all day.

No matter what job I had (and I've had many jobs). I have met some truly decent, funny, interesting people of all ages, races and walks of life over the decades--starting from when I was a teenager. I didn't necessarily socialize after work, but I loved seeing them every day. I'm one of those people who needs an activity or purpose in order to meet and become friends with others, because I'm naturally a little shy. School and work were the perfect contexts for that.

..... that said, there's only one person I work with who is one of my best personal friends who I spend a lot of out-of-the-office time with.
