I finally bought some Beyond Meat
I should have bought it a week ago when it was "only" $150. It's now closing in on $200. But I think it's going to continue to do well.

(34,387 posts)I am so used to grillers that I will probably feel the same. I have not seen or heard of these new burgers, or fake meat around here. Probably sometime in the next year or so it will show up, lol. I have not really looked either, I am stocked up on grillers and facon and veganaise and will not need anything for a while.
I hear these are juicy? That is one of the things that I could never go back to.....bloody food.

I did have an Impossible burger from Burger King.
It was good but I prefer the other...

(9,047 posts)Tasted bland. Had mayo which I forgot to delete from my order. I don't like that at all.
Possibly was not even vegan mayo.
Threw half of it away.
I make my own lentil burgers which are great. Make enough to freeze and use as needed.
Been vegan for 8 weeks. Lost 10 pounds at least.
Was largely vegetarian anyway before.

(9,047 posts)grated carrot, caramalized onions, mashed potatoes (no oil or other fats - act as binding agent), cooked peas,
Work out your ingredient measures by trial and error.
One cup of lentils makes a lot of cooked volume.
Optional, cumin, coriander, salt, paprika, ginger etc
Mash all together with a hand held blender briefly - too much will destroy the texture
Take a spoonful of the mix and roll in besan flour or any flour
Fry in light hot shallow oil for a couple of minutes each side
Serve hot or cold with salad..
Makes excellent cold snack or in a lunch box with bread.
Great with sweet chilli sauce, Indonesian sweet soy or chutney.
These are vegan burgers. You could add an egg too for non vegans.
