Illinois Changed Sub Rules, To My Benefit

When I got my first license in late '18, I was told I had to renew between April 1 & June 30, 2024.
I was also told that I had to re-register in any region where I sub.
Now, the rules dropped that second part. The system tracks license holders so if one gets in legal trouble over the issues reviewed in the background check(s).
So, 5+ years later I don't have to pay for LEO to prove I'm still one of the good guys.
At $75 per region, this decision saves me $225!
I was considering dropping one region because I only sub there a couple times a year. The $75 didn't seem well-spent. Now, it doesn't require any money.
I do have to go into the office for a new seal stamped version, but if I had to reauthorization, I'd have made those trips anyway.
There's a sub shortage, so maybe this change was intended to make it as easy as possible to retain experienced subs.
