Chairman Whitehouse Opens Budget Hearing on Climate Change and the Costs to National Security - Senator Whitehouse
May 15 - Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, delivered the following opening statement at a Budget Committee hearing, titled “Budgeting for the Storm: Climate Change and the Costs to National Security.”
The hearing examined the strain that the looming climate crisis is placing on our defense and national security operations and infrastructure.
