Hyzon has successfully completed a trial of North America’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered refuse collection truck. Conducted in partnership with Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery (MDRR) and New Way Trucks, the trial aimed to showcase the viability of hydrogen as a sustainable and zero-emission solution for heavy-duty waste collection operations. The truck was tested on routes across several California locations, including Concord, Pittsburg, Oakley, Rio Vista, and parts of Contra Costa.
