Inner Mongolia Announces Construction of Extensive GREEN Hydrogen Pipeline Network
Inner Mongolia Announces Construction of Extensive Green Hydrogen Pipeline Network
Fuel Cells Works | November 28, 2024
Inner Mongolia reveals a detailed plan to establish a robust
green hydrogen pipeline network with eight new pipelines aimed at enhancing local and regional hydrogen distribution and consumption.
This strategic development, costing 910 million yuan ($125M), is designed to integrate and expand the region's hydrogen infrastructure, supporting over 30
green hydrogen projects and potentially exporting hydrogen to major industrial centers in China.
Inner Mongolia, an autonomous region in China, has officially launched an ambitious initiative to construct a comprehensive
green hydrogen pipeline network. The "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
Green Hydrogen Pipeline Construction and Development Plan" was recently issued, marking a significant step forward in the region's
green energy ambitions.
The plan envisions the development of a network comprising "one trunk, two rings, and four exits," strategically designed to facilitate the efficient transport of hydrogen from production sites in Inner Mongolia to high-demand areas across the region and beyond, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shaanxi, Ningxia, and Liaoning. This network aims to enhance the capacity for delivering
green hydrogen through pipelines, significantly improving the current system where hydrogen transport predominantly relies on road tube trailers.
Currently home to more than 30 green hydrogen projects, including significant installations like Geelys 100,000-tonnes-per-year green methanol facility and a similar project by China Coal Group,
Inner Mongolia is positioning itself as a global leader in green hydrogen production. The total production capacity of these projects exceeds 855,000 tonnes annually, indicating the region's substantial role in China's hydrogen economy...more

Countless ignorant fools will say "Hydrogen Cannot Be Piped" due to embrittlement. Anyone following the comments on most any hydrogen thread in the biased NA "media" can see this. The arrogant ignorance of so many H2 bashers is a big reason that China now leads the Global H2 industry.
Hydrogen isn't new- at least not in the Gulf Coast of America
The worlds largest hydrogen supply pipeline network (FOR NOW) is located in the Gulf Coast (owned by industrial gases company Air Products). Added to that, more than 90 percent of the United States total dedicated hydrogen pipelines are in Texas and Louisiana.
