Review of a Chinese EV delivery van
I thought this was interesting, it looks like a nothing fancy, get the job done vehicle. It also looks like they're ahead of us in developing EVs for things other than basic transportation.
I should note that Beyond the Press is my favorite channel for mischief and mayhem and using machine shop equipment and other things very inappropriately. Thermite in a blender, anyone?

The Chinese van is more a commercial van, I can see it with the name of a plumber, electrician, or in-twon delivery.
China's going to clean our clocks in that department.
I'm going blind, but I was barely able to catch part of a gas price sign yesterday, it's almost $3/gallon here in NM. That's huge, we're a producer state and our prices are usually the lowest in the country.

(658 posts)They're producing it in 3 sizes. The smallest rates about 125 miles on a full charge. Not bad for local commuting. I believe they're starting at just under $45,000. Not sure I'm ready to pay that much, but unless something better/cheaper comes out in the next few years, that will be my next vehicle.
I'm an electrician. I burn at least 5 gallons of gas a day. At 3 bucks a gallon, that's 15 bucks a day, 75 a week. Insanity.
Not sure yet about a charging station. I do have an available 240 slot in my service. It's on the side of the house that I park at, so that should be good. I'd like to add another set of batteries and enough solar panels to charge the new batteries and go with a DC charging station. Just not sure yet. I still need to do a little more homework.

Most of them are transport vans, but there are a couple of delivery vans.
I will say one thing about the Chinese vehicles, they've certainly improved their durability. 15 years ago, the crash tests were dismal. Now they look survivable.
