In this video I discuss the huge amount of debt that has been taken on by Russian Corporates and Consumers since the start of the war in Ukraine. One of the main drivers of the increase in debt levels is the Money Supply which was increased dramatically in 2022 and has remained at elevated levels since. One of the problems that the increase in the money supply has caused is rising inflation which has lead to rising interest rates and this means that the increasing amount of debt has been taken on at higher interest rates. Added to this many businesses in Russia have become dependent upon the WarTime Economy and all of this is a recipe for disaster for the Russian Economy, Russian businesses and the Kremlin.
