and will blame some or all of the following: "Woke" Democrats, Antifa, Hillary, George Soros, Biden, Obama, and drag queens. Just watch. The one person they will not blame is Donald Trump, because if they do, a lot of his stank will stick to them.

2. I don't think so. With an ..."Indictment" with "proof", some will change.

For those that change, it is all over for "Indicted Donald Trump"

Some will say, "There has to be a trial to prove that he is "guilty."

But for many, my opinion is it is "All over after today".

3. I think you will be disappointed. The GOP will fight like cornered rats

to protect Agent Orange - and don't forget, a lot of them are also implicated directly. They will not admit he or they did anything wrong.

7. That is a very optimistic supposition.

The notice that the committee suggests that the DOJ indicts changes nothing but the news cycle. Even if he is indicted, that will inflame the hard-core Trump people and probably lead them to violence. The end of the Trump story does not start today. The end will only begin with an indictment and arrest.

They still have a weekly pick-up truck rally for Trump in my town, flying Trump flags and driving up Main Street with folks lined up along the way cheering. Saying Trump lost the election is fighting words around here.

The leadership will try to sway their base from Trump, but a lot of die-hards are going to stay with him.

10. The top of the GOP, or at least some of them, are backing away quietly

and carefully, but without being too obvious about it because they are still afraid of the GOP base. And much of the GOP base still worships TFG because the MAGA faction is no longer a political party but a cult. Cult members do not easily or quickly change their allegiance, if they ever do. The GOP's leadership won't overtly reject TFG until they think they are safe from the MAGA base, and neither the J6 Committee's criminal referral nor any prosecution of TFG by DOJ will change the minds of the cult members.

I think there will be some violence.

I've talked politics with conservatives all my life, and criticizing Trump raises their hackles more than anything I can remember.

I think you're upstate NY, right?

My brother is in some hick town in the Midwest and even there they've figured it out. Believe me, this place is hundreds and hundreds of miles away from any city. He told me the trump supporters around there have been dumping their "merch." Hahah, not seeing any future for selling it, they are taking what they can get. Trump mug anyone?

Now that is not abandoning him, necessarily, but it certainly isn't expressing much faith in him.

14. Hick town in Midwest is where I am.

We have a Freedom Truck, an old camper with a big window cut out of it that sells Trump merchandise. It goes around to parking lots and sets up shop a few hours a day. Last I saw it was in an Aldi's parking lot, but I've seen it at Walmart (the center of civic life around here), the Cracker Barrel, and at The Home Depot. I don't know how much he actually sells, but he puts on a big display. Last time I saw it was December.

My brother tells a similar story. He is trying desperately to get out of there but he has to sell a lot of property first, and that actually takes years.

I'm actually grateful for posts like yours because it "keeps it real." I'm just glad I don't have to live around them.

One gets a distorted view living in an all-blue county. Even the closest republicans around here are more like centrist Democrats.

It's not all great here; just different types of annoyances, like people obsessed with their lawns, over-parenting their kids, that type of thing. Lawn signs are big, though, with many about the environment, BLM, LGBTQ, anti- real estate development. It would aggravate me to see trump crap.
