I have a question about pronouns

If I have an LGBTQ+ relative in a same sex relationship, and I love their spouse as I love my relative, would it be acceptable to call them my niece and my niece, or my nephew and my nephew? I refer to my married loved ones as nieces and nephews or nephews and nieces. I am already a great-great aunt, and pretty sure we'll welcome new faces to our family, and I would like to be as affectionate as I can be without making etiquette mistakes.

Many thanks

they'll be tickled that you asked (and tried) - even if it isn't just the precise nomenclature they had in mind.

And I'm a great-great-great-uncle. My niece, who was born when I was four years old, has great-grandchildren. I haven't met them yet but have great hopes for Thanksgiving. The first set of twins ever born in our direct family, though there are some distant relatives who have twins.

and some of my nieces and nephews and their spouses are as good to me as my own kids. They all grew up together, and while they are cousins, sometimes it seems like I got a couple of extra kids mixed in Love it!
