Update- since the cdc exposure and quarantine calculator is now a dead link, here is a related search result from a private college I don't know anything about, besides their consideration:

COVID-19 Quarantine Calculator
You have tested positive and have symptoms: Isolation Calculator
If you are symptomatic and have tested positive for COVID-19 then you must isolate for 5 full days from the date your symptoms began. To stop or discontinue isolation, at least 5 full days must have passed since your symptoms began and at least 24 hours have passed since your fever went away without the use of fever-reducing medications (such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen) and other symptoms have improved. You must continue to wear a well-fitting mask around others for an additional 5 days after leaving isolation.
Enter the first day your symptoms began.
You have tested positive but have no symptoms: Isolation Calculator
If you are not symptomatic and have tested positive for COVID-19 then you must isolate for 5 full days from the day you had your test done. You must continue to wear a well-fitting mask around others for an additional 5 days after leaving isolation.
Enter your test date below.
You have been identified as a close contact and are NOT Boosted: Quarantine Calculator
If you have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not having any symptoms, you will quarantine for 5 full days after the date you came in contact with the positive person. You must continue to wear a well-fitting mask around others for an additional 5 days after leaving quarantine. You should also test for COVID-19 5-7 days after your exposure, or sooner if symptoms develop. You may be tested at Health Services at no cost. Call 973-761-9175 for an appointment.
Enter the date of last contact with the person who tested positive below.
You have been identified as a close contact and ARE Boosted:

Wear a well-fitted mask around others for the next 10 days.

To be around immunocompromised people? Masked of course, but after 15 minutes, I recall theres still a risk if one is positive.
At my work, we have a colleague, returning from the continent on an airplane from a family reunion, which is where things get picked up a lot, big gatherings, and airports and airplanes. Several of us live with senior citizens and or immunocompromised people and we need to ask our colleague to stay out until shes safe and in the clear. Shell be fine with that, but I dont know how long to ask for. Google has not been helpful, Conflicting information, and Im out of time so inquiring of your thoughts on this.
Thank you so very much in advance DU!

(57,945 posts)We whent thru this during vodid. Airplane air is constantly refreshed and recirculated so threre's not much risk in-flight to masked individuals.

(25,968 posts)Such dummies...after being so careful and not getting it all along, and of course current on our vaccines, we had a false sense of security last June on a flight to Europe. No one else was masked and we dropped our guard!
Ruined our trip since we had to leave the tour and come home!
This was days before it hit the news that covid was flaring.
Will double-mask next time! It was successful on a recent flight to Toronto.
Sorry, no answer to your question.
