I ended up putting on my go-to light, mindless choice- Sex and the City- the series.

Although they were playing the episodes where they go to Los Angeles and Carrie goes to the Warner Bros. lot. That's where I work and it made me miss being able to be on the lot.

Then when she plugged in her vibrator, somehow blissfully unaware that the current is different. Oh, and her American made vibrator would not actually be able to be plugged in.

Plus, she so cheerfully speaks no French, except for the occasional "Bonjour" and seems to be making zero effort to learn any. So I won't be able to continue with that one.

in Europe are blithely overlooked, I find I can't even begin to go there.

It's actually a problem I frequently have with movies and TV. No one bothers to fact check anything, not one knows enough of stuff to have a clue when they get something totally wrong. No wonder people accept anything and everything they see on the internet.
