And totally understand that amazon could take them away at will. Still I find it a great way to have movies and books. It probably will happen hardly ever where something will disappear.

You have to have an amazon account to even access those videos. If you delete your amazzon account, or amazon tosses you for some reason, you can no longer access those vids.

Buyer beware.

to purchase as a streaming option is at least 2 or more x more costly and this fine print that tells me i could be royally screwed in the future. They depend on us thinking it would never happen, but really? WHY would we think that?

I generally rent, but I use Redbox and the free public library significantly. Virtually everything video I have bought is regularly available on streaming services. I kind of feel foolish by buying it then.

I stopped buying physical media a while ago. I don't like bringing physical stuff into an already cluttered house.

Like Adobe, Word, Corel Painter, games, etc. Even when they were ‘stand alone’ versions years ago, you still didn’t ‘own’ them.
