Anyone watch any of the cooking or baking shows on netflix?
Right now I'm watching the Great British Baking show and I can't figure out how the judges manage to taste all 10, (at the beginning) pastries or baking submissions at a time.
I just wonder if they get sick from eating such a large amount of sugary pastry in a sitting. And they don't take little tastes. It seems like that take generous portion tastes.
Maybe it's just me because I have stomach issues and can't eat that much sugary sweet things at a time.
It's very interesting watching these bakers do their thing. I never realized how specific baking is. I actually have always sucked at it.
The other one I watched was Chef's table and it was interesting to see all the disgusting things they threw in a pot and called fabulous!
I remember one time there was a goat's head? (unless I dreamed this) Other things were sea anemones - those spiky purple things that they cut in 1/2 and ate. And then all the organ meats that they thought were great.
Maybe it's me but yuck!
Who else has watched what?

(17,498 posts)I did love the brittish baking show. I make a lot of bread although I am still intimidated by what they bake. Paul Hollywood has other shows as well I think, mostly on bread.
I'll probably get back to it as the wx cools and there is less to do outside.

(4,264 posts)I love to watch the amateurs show up every week and do so much more than I could dream of. They need to know techniques from all over Europe and sometime further.
I don't really care about what the judges go through. I really do think that they usually take small bites.

(5,158 posts)I can only watch about 3 episodes in a row before needing a break. It gets to be a bit much.
But, I have laughed so hard (and cringed so hard) its made my stomach hurt.

(5,158 posts)Morimoto was the man! The dramatics of the host (cant remember what they called him?) and the intro was exquisite. Probably my favorite cooking show, ever. Screw Bobby Flay.
