Rifftrax. For MST3K fans!
I'm a huge MST3K fan and have seen all the shows several times. In my search for shows like it I discovered Cinematic Titanic, which was Joel's short lived series. I recently discovered Rifftrax, which is Mike Nelson's show. Very funny stuff, and since it was dome more recently, includes more current references like Ann Coulter. The shows are on Tubi, which unfortunately has commercials. The commercials seem to be less frequent on weeknights. They're pretty annoying on weekends. But hey, it's free!

(1,220 posts)I just think overall MST3K was more consistently funny. I may also be biased because it appears that the overlap between what the original writers and I know, read, and find funny is huge. I got almost all the jokes, even the obscure ones. That's a bit less true for the Rifftrax shows.
(One of the funniest things to me was Gypsy singing "Last Night I Didn't Get to Sleep At All" during one of the Hercules episodes. "Last ni-i-i-i-ght. Last ni-i-i-i-ght. Last ni-i-i-i-ght."
Crow: "Who are you supposed to be?"
Gypsy: "I'm the Hellenistic Ideal!"

(24,141 posts)I burned through all the MST3Ks several times. I just need a fix of something new. While Rifftrax is pretty good, it's not nearly as funny as MST3K when they're on a roll! I started watching Season 0 on their official website and boy, it's pretty slow. I'll eventually watch the whole season, just because. But they're not as good as the later seasons.
