Anybody watch The Criterion Channel?

I've had a hard time trying to find domestic independent and foreign art-house films online until I found Criterion. Especially this really crazy political satire film from the late 60's titled "Mr. Freedom" which really mocks the right-wing at the time, and somewhat applies today. So this place is a total treasure trove! Now I won't have to hunt around Netflix DVDs in order to find anything mentioned in those international film encyclopedia books I use to own.

Unfortunately, you missed it when it was Filmstruck, the service that preceded it, and was even better. Filmstruck not only had the entire Criterion Collection but also AMC's complete online library. It was awesome! Unfortunately, it shut down, but it was none other than a group of Hollywood heavyweights, among them Steven Spielberg, who helped bring it back as the stripped-down Criterion Channel we have today. A lot better than nothing, though.

I used to be a dispatcher for an internet service provider. My wife was a chef at a local retreat center about 40 minutes away from where I worked, and she got off about two hours after I did. We only had one car between us back then, so I could either take the bus home and wait for her, or hang out at work and watch Criterion Channel (or previously, Filmstruck) on my computer and wait for her to pick me up. I often opted for the latter. Got a great film history education.

He lives with us and we watch movies on Criterion several nights a week. Many we have already seen years ago but it's great watching them with him and he has turned us on to all sorts of great foreign films and directors we had never heard of.
