Netflix: Cobra Kai

I held off watching this series because I knew the acting would be sub-par and the writing would be weak, but I started watching it this weekend.

The writing is weak, the plot(s) are ridiculous most of the time, but there is something about the Karate Kid. I had just finished high school when the first movie came out. I believe I watched it at least 10 times through the years.

I can't say that it's the best thing that I've ever seen, but I can't stop watching it.

Watched a few, then quit. It would have been better if there had been some growth in the characters as the show progressed.

They started out hating each other, and gradually put their differences aside. They admitted their mistakes and tried to make amends. Quite moralistic actually.

Yes, it's hokey. During Covid lockdown, we were desperate for something to watch. We were so sorry when it ended!

(We went on to watch Last Tango in Halifax next if I recall correctly, and loved that too).

It was kinda hokey and predictable. But I did watch the whole thing and enjoyed it anyway. If they made another season, I'd watch it again.

I can't wait for Terry Silver's return. I hope Mike Barnes also returns so we can see a big melee

When Johnny told his side of the story saying that Daniel kept harassing him that year. I did enjoy hearing the story from the other side. It made Johnny's character more enjoyable.
