(18,988 posts)I live in the middle of the Pacific and never went anywhere almost ever except Italy. It felt like a trip to a part of Italy I've never seen and I legit fell in love with the people and the dogs.
It's a documentary, beautifully filmed, a little bit sad, very beautiful. For me, yes. I like Wes Anderson films, loved Everything is Illuminated, Down by Law, The Great Match, not so much action movies and never horror. In case you like and don't like the same, you may enjoy it as well. I watched it twice and wish I could watch it again.
Birbita looks like my girl who died earlier this year, so that may be part of it.
Bira, Bira, Bira, I would feed you truffles too...

(2,719 posts)I lived in Alba in 1972 and go back as often as I can, pandemics permitting. To be in Alba during the Festival of the White Truffle of Alba is to be in something close to heaven. The perfume of truffles pervades the narrow Main Street of the town.
I am sorry about your loss. You owe yourself a return to Piemonte. The people are wonderful.

(2,719 posts)I saw a person I know, Enrico Crippa, the head chef at Piazza Duomo restaurant. He was buying truffles at night in a dark alley. Thanks for the recommendation.
