The Crown

With the Queen's death, I've finally remembered to watch The Crown. It's excellent.

Two episodes are particularly moving.

One is S3:E3, Aberfan, about a disaster that killed 116 children in a Welsh mining town.

The other is S3:E4, Bubbikins. This one has a bit of mystery to it, so I'll leave it there.

The Crown has become one of my favorite TV shows, and I don't watch a lot of TV.

I disagree. I like the first Elizabeth. Had some spunk to the character. jimfields33 Sep 2022 #3

that show made me go research some historical events I had never heard about,,,,
I think it was difficult to make the change between the actors but they all did outstanding jobs.
Looking forward the the final seasons.

Truly an excellent series. I am glad the Charles we seem to be getting as the new king seems to be more mature than the self-absorbed idiot we saw in the show.

The Crown is history at its best - well researched, not shallow or kitschy, breaking down the Royals to a more human and sensitive level... we, the ordinary moviegoers, can somehow empathize with the characters. Great job!!

As for Charles, I don't think he's shown as an arrogant snob in the series. I believe the series is even in favor of him and his role - but let's wait for the Diana scandals in the next season (although I'm not too keen on it, having had enough of it in the 1990s).
