Wednesday on Netflix. It's a howler.
Just finished the first episode. Love it! Interest keeps growing with scenes of very popular actors. Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Larissa Weems, Brienne of Tarth from GOT, and of course, Christina Ricci!
Great Wednesday dry, witty style dialogue.
Recommend.

(4,217 posts)The actor who plays Wednesday is incredible and I love how she acts with her eyes. Plus I love the very large snark! I'm on episode 5 now and it remains excellent.

Its fun, but the Addams Family isnt really the focus.
I did catch some cute callbacks to Large Marge from Pee Wees Big Adventure.

(14,275 posts)I love this wednesday and her sass, style etc. Read an article today it's scored higher on Rotten Tomatoes than the 90's versions. (and while I loved them, agreed)
This one stays closer to the original comics in casting IMO
And the dance scene will be iconic for ages!

(38,454 posts)I have two complaints, though.
The music was so loud it often drowned out the actor's voices. I had to turn on closed caption so I wouldn't miss important dialog.
Also, I don't recall that Uncle Fester was a criminal. My recollection was that he was just quirky & kooky, but in this series, he robbed a bank. ???
I thought it was a nice touch to have Christina Ricci in the cast.
Agree, recommended!

(14,275 posts)Looks like Fester is pretty much criminally insane lol

funny how wednesday originally was more of a wallflower, pugsley was the one who played with guillotines. I dont care, I still love this version! Netflix better renew it!

We should probably have another thread to point out all the Easter eggs that we spot.
