Anyone watching The White Lotus finale?
Somehow we got hooked on this HBO series. Sort of a murder mystery, but not really. Series 2 is well done, the settings in Sicily are gorgeous, the characters are interesting (though not really likable).
Tonight is series finale at 9 est

(9,211 posts)I'm really not enjoying it nearly as much as Season one.
The characters are SOOOOOOOOOOO unlikeable! I only care about the young adult son/grandson.
I'm disappointed in the show and in the creator Mike White. Oh well, I guess that's show biz.

(2,328 posts)I was looking for more mystery and instead got every version of tawdry sex situation instead.
Season 1 was fresh and funny, something different.
Season 2 had great actors, but the script wasted their talent.
I'll watch Season 3 but with less expectations, I think.

(25,942 posts)check out Stanley Tucci's Searching For Italy shown on CNN.
Not only will you see Sicily - but he'll take you to every region in Italy. You get an intimate look of each of these places and also learn of the special foods and drinks of the regions.
Well worth watching.

(6,329 posts)If you are near Bruges on May 18, 2023 (Ascension Day) it is worth attending the procession/parade of the Holy Blood. Without planning, we just happened upon it a few years back.
Have a great trip.

(12,934 posts)And Tanya and the grandfather a little bit too. I visited Sicily once with my dad years ago and we connected with the distant relations over many a meal and barhop. The idea of the Taormina setting was a little sour for me as me and my dad had lunch at a cafe there and the officious waiter argued with my father over the menu in English and told him, under his breath, in Italian, that he wished a brain tumor upon him, to which my father's reaction was quick and startling as he understood Italian, especially the Sicilian dialect, fluently.
Luciferous
(6,288 posts)but it was okay. I didn't like the end and I was yelling at the TV when Portia was on because she was just making really stupid choices.

I wonder which character will also be in S3? Any ideas?

Producer/Director said first year about $, second season sex, third season will be mystical? Ugh
PS absolutely hated Portia character

(42,770 posts)didn't like or thought they didn't act well or had a bad script.... Portia! What a flat, uncaring person and Harper's husband .. all I could think of was pushing the hair out of his face every time I saw him on film . Strangest haircut ever.
