What a great show. Strong mystery and Columbo at his beginning.. With Gene Barry playing the antagonist.

2. Seen every episode of Columbo.

Many of them quite a few times. My favorite was the one with Ruth Gordon. I love looking at the cars and the decor in the homes. ❤️

3. I think Spielberg directed the episode!

It was one of, if not, the first of his directing credits.

6. You're close! Spielberg directed Murder By The Book",

one of the first episodes. Martin Milner got to play the victim and Jack Cassidy got to be the killer.

4. Liked him in high school

But now he's a clown. Always with the stinky cigar smoking where it's not allowed or wanted and is personally crushed when he can't smoke. Always hounding people he immediately suspects is the killer, going against police protocol, bringing up his never seen wife in conversations (as if he'd be a catch, I doubt he's even married).

5. Wow....I dunno about that. Falk is outstanding in his role.

The acting is A1 in this episode. Columbo introduced a new media persona, ,,,and Falk absolutely nailed this character.
