Some Netflix distractions
Just watched a couple things today that brought me back to the real world, oddly enough.
1) Swedish mini series "The Breakthrough"
2) Mexican film "Lucca's World"
Both are subtitled, but also reasonably dubbed, so fine for those who don't like reading.
Both are based on true stories and are very engaging and watchable.

(162,216 posts)very good although I absolutely cannot listen to dubbed, it is too distracting and takes away from the acting - sometimes it can be distracting to read too but I have gotten better at it.....

I want to get the book now for further insight into Per's method. I've long been interested in participating in that type of research, but the ethical issues--especially as the world takes a hard right turn--keeps me on the sidelines.

My maternal grandfather spoke Swedish though he never used it after his mother died (Great-grandma understood English but was more comfortable with Swedish) and did not share much of it with Mom and her siblings. As I listened, I realized the only phrase I recognized was "tack så mycket". I felt a little bad about that.
