I finished "Zero Day", and felt uncomfortable at the end.
I felt George Mullen was going to become Joe McCarthy.

(34,488 posts)and was really interested but right now I am doing hard labor cleaning out a barn so....I fell asleep. It seemed to be heading some interesting places. I really like Jesse Plemons and happy to see Joan Allen again and will be happy to see Mathew Modine if I can find a non sleepy time.
I did not expect to be so caught up in it, maybe from sleepiness but I really had a hard time getting through it. Still I will see it no matter how long it takes!!

This is the entire point of the show.

(15,306 posts)Overall the show was pretty good. However, our current crisis far exceeds the imaginational boundaries of these sorts of shows.
As always 'cyber attack' plots get stupid as the details get revealed.
The 'radical centrists' twist was sort of preposterous. The equivalence of 'preferred pronouns' to 'massive disinformation', the 'both sides bad' speech, was insulting.
Also they sort of just dropped without explanation the 'proteus' plot arch. You don't introduce a gun in the first act and then just make it irrelevant. It's known as Chekhov's Gun. Adding irrelevant plot twists is infuriating.

(24,736 posts)I agree about the "proteus" thing. Unless I missed it, they never explained if Mullens had it or he was just getting senile.
