professor t on pbs.
i think this show may b the QUIRKIEST detective series ever.
prof t teaches criminology at cambridge. hes dragged into working w the police by a former student.
hes autistic, has ocd, a troubled childhood, and has vivid fantasies (hallucinations?) that help him recreate crimes. he wears rubber gloves, but sprays disinfectant on everything anyway. carries a hanky to open doors, ring doorbells, handle random objects, and cover any chair he sits in. he has a goldfish that he talks to, who talks back.
the rest of the cast is quite quirky, too. his mother is an outrageous painter w a chihuahua named kafka. his secretary is a busy body who terrifies most ppl.
he has an encyclopedic knowledge of personality types and mental illness. he doesnt so much find clues as hone in on who has the capacity to kill, and who doesnt.
based on a beglian series of the same name, also available.
absolutely delightful.

(150 posts)It looks like the actor (Ben Miller) was the original oddball inspector in the Death in Paradise series! Looking forward to his newer work
