Is just a cooking show with a murder mystery backstory.

(9,980 posts)2. I very much enjoyed "Hannibal" the book and the movie
mainly because of the Mason Verger character (wonderfully portrayed by Gary Oldman in the movie). The TV show, not so much. I also liked the novel, "Hannibal Rising," but the movie was a bit of a disappointment.

He just didn't fit the image I had of Hannibal Lecter. It's not the worst TV show ever, but far from the best.
