Does anyone else suffer from Cluster Headaches?

Last edited Thu Apr 25, 2013, 11:55 PM - Edit history (1)

Just curious I've had them for about 6 years. I went from seasonal to chronic about 18 months ago.

I'm just having a bad day. Got hit in the mall. Crying like a baby in public is damned embarrassing.

i am working on a fundraiser for my local dems. most don't even know how i struggle with fibro fatigue and pain, because they only see me when i am feeling well. now they are getting a taste of my "other side", and it saddens me quite a bit.

I need to get to bed, I think.

I had a several severe concussions when I was a kid, so I get them a a rate of about 10 to 20 a month for a while, then they usually go away for months at a time. I was shocked when a few years ago my Mom told me she had only ever had 5 or 6 Headaches in all of her life, and she's over 80 now!

Anyway, I better go sleep this one off.

Managed to shake them off in my early 30s.... which I understand is a fairly common pattern.

They got really, really bad ( sent me to the emergency room - bad) toward the very end.( i.e. in my early 30s.)

I'm a lot older now and don't think I'd survive that kind of pain.

I believe he found some relief from attacks through the use of psychedelic mushrooms, although he also developed an addiction to opiates (and so the doctors cut him off from ALL opiates, even when he was in severe pain (BUT, he was allowed methadone for treatment of the addiction)).

You should check out this website for cluster headache sufferers if you haven't already.

w/ magnesium chloride aka magnesium oil.

Got rid of mine completely.
I make mine with unscented lotion & chloride flakes, it's not as messy.
I'll never stop using it...my overall health is better.

It can go on for 2 weeks every few seconds. I have chronic and acute migraines and I see the neurologist Monday. So...

ETA: Sometimes it comes with pain on both sides of my head around where the jaw and cheek bones meet.

Magnesium Oil cured my migraines.
I had the throw up types and that threat of one over my eye all the time.
Two years, migraine free.

I found out what I had from the astrology group of all places. I've never had problems until about two years ago, and then BAM, someone stuck an ice pick in my right eyebrow, the headaches put me in a fetal position crying like a baby and I don't usually take aspirin or any pain killers. Forward to the present, I am finally able to afford insurance and had an MRI of my skull and found polyps in my sinuses, had a course of antibiotics and steroids to hopefully shrink the polyps and have them removed.
I'm not getting any satisfaction from the Dr., and am excited about the mag. therapies, I'll try anything to rid myself of these total debilitating headaches.
Thank the heavens for DU, without it I might be one of the sheeple, ignorant and in pain.
