shit. what a cluster f%#@
after months of diarrhea, weight loss, and gut pain, had a colonoscopy which showed nsaid burn.
luckily, i got my carpal tunnel fixed, and didnt need the 2x daily pain meds. got adjusted to living with withdrawal/rebound pain. settling down.
not so bad, hanging in.
then i had a tiny little fall that broke 3 ribs.
took meds for the first 2 weeks, because i had to keep functioning. now things are quieted down. so i am cutting back to save my guts, but
can i have my pain meds back?
just taking them at night. toughing it out.
ugh. fuck.

(71,909 posts)at least i was able to get the alderman and a few experts to walk through.
they agreed that most of the cites were bullshit.
there is an urban farm group that has also offered any help i need to make them happy, tho i am not that inclined to do so. i figure it will just embolden them to bother me every year.
dont know how it will all shake out. i plan to kick their ass if they do much besides apologize.

(6,234 posts)I burnt my stomach lining from nsaids back in April. Confirmed by an endoscopy a month ago. I have arthritis in my spine and was taking a LOT of ibuprofen. Sometimes double doses. So I've been struggling with gastritis now, on top of it. Recently I had to get some dental work done and they gave me Vicoden. My gastroenterologist said it's a mixture of opiates and acetaminophen which isn't an nsaid. It didn't seem to bother my stomach.
Hope you found something that helps the pain and that you heal soon!
