I'm back!
My scans are good. Things are stable. The tumor is probably dead tissue, sitting in the bottom of my left lung. We caught it early. I don't have to go back for another six months.
Also, there is a new doc in the practice. The oncologist will refer me to him. I have osteoporosis, and I get compression fractures often. This doc will be able to do that minimally invasive procedure where they insert a cement like filling so that the compression fractures stop. I may be able to lift things again, and the pain from this will be over.
I toldya that I would fight back. It is exhausting both mentally and physically, but I am doing it. I hope everyone here is doing the same thing!

(24,888 posts)get too eager to get into the flow of things, lifting things that you shouldn't, do things that you shouldn't, that put an unneeded stress on your body. One day, you'll get there, one day coming soon, hopefully!
Thanks for the ongoing status.

(7,794 posts)So much uncertainty revolves around the costs for medical care in the US. That sort of narration would be like a public service, if you're up for it.

(31,715 posts)Prescriptions still cost too much, and so does my Medicare F, but we would be bankrupt without it.
I have traditional Medicare, Medicare F through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois, and a Medicare D prescription plan. Don't mess with anything other than traditional Medicare. We go to the senior center every year to make sure we are doing things the right way. Get help interpreting things if you need it. I don't want to say anything else other than we are not rich. We have enough, and we would like to keep it that way. I am 76. My husband is 80.
