shot my mouth off a bit too much in gdp, and had to cool my jets for a while.
damn, that was hard. i've never been in trouble here. outside lookin in, in the middle of all this, sucked like an industrial hoover.
how is everyone getting along?
me- i have been as busy as a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.
i was already kicking my little farm up a big notch this year, but my hood is alive w would-be gardeners looking for plants and advice.
we're gettin it done safely, tho.
missed you all. reading your posts here and not being able to reply really sucked.
eta- i was reading, and also had an old friend who is never in trouble keep a special eye out for y'all.

(42,862 posts)What kind of pledge or promise did you have to make?
Did it cost anything (cash-wise? donation-wise?) If so, how much.
Congratulations! I wonder who else is going to be let back in.

(10,403 posts)I'm sad and depressed
mopinko
(71,910 posts)???
thankfully i have been well medicated and my depression is quiet right now.
it's so weird how different it is here above ground. everything is so much lighter.

(10,403 posts)Last time I was on meds I almost killed myself for the 2nd time. Anti depressants in men tend to be more dangerous.
Oh its not just pandemic and isolation dread. It's me trying to maintain relationships.
One girl I'm really trying to get to know better. I consider her one of my besties. It's more of hoping she would start a convo with me first before I did.

(71,910 posts)the new gen of genetic tests have a big pharma component that tells you about reactions to pain and psyche drugs.
i got a mayo kit here that i havent done yet, but damn curious. my youngest is quite haywire, and pain meds and me have taken some crazy rides.
i have been traipsing through mmj, and finally found my effective dose of the right strains. like pain meds, i am very resistant.
found the ones that spark creative thinking, and lessen anxiety.
makes like go so much more smoothly.
and those first steps are always hard. do you think she feels the same? or has she put you in the friend zone? unless you are feeling resistant, be brave.
and stay safe.

(10,403 posts)Fair points all around. Last meds I was on was in 2016. So yeah probably newer stuff out right now. I'm currently on testosterone because I had it extremely low.
And its not that I wanna date her. Just expanding my best friends. She already has a boyfriend who is a really awesome guy and I'm friends with him.
mopinko
(71,910 posts)something i learned as an old lady- how to accept people as they are.
i have a kinda crazy bf, and most women wouldnt put up with the situation. but by accepting it for what it is, i get to enjoy what i have, and not worry about the rest.
it helps to be stable and content in what i already have/who i am. i am very lucky and i know it.
but it also helps that i have worked for a long time to smash fear everywhere in my life. in this case, i dont have fear/worry about if/when it might end. that seems to be the road.
the less fear you have, the more chances you are willing to take.
hang in there.

(10,403 posts)For me it's being too annoying. Being a pest to others. Reason why I'm so terrified of opening my mouth.
mopinko
(71,910 posts)she is a writer and asks for prompts sometimes on fb, so i gave her my mantra- fear is a thief. she didnt really get it at first, so i elaborated.
she told me i wrote my own poem. she made a few changes, but most took my own words. so-
I despise keys and locks.
I just wasnt raised with that
Its only stuff,
And no one was coming to take it
Anyway
So every time i tried to walk in a door,
If it was locked
fear had stolen that moment
Of locking in
Locking out
they werent coming
Its only stuff,
And no one was coming to take it
but fear robbed me daily
of a minute
of my composure,
of my purpose
for walking through that door
