I have an appt w/ my social worker & Soc Sec people today

I am anxious about the drive, physical pain as I use the walker, parking, and what will happen. I am feeling my fears, naming them & I will do the need things today. F mental illness.

My Soc Sec appt is not today, I wrote down the wrong date!! Correct time though. So I rebooked& am now having a most excellent burger for lunch. Still seeing the MH Soc worker @ one. Maybe the public library after.

i once drove half way to madison wi from chi, w a dog, thinking we had an appt w the vet clinic at uwm.
along the way, my last stupid thing caught up to me. i had replaced a tire on my car, but it had been so long since i had done that that i didnt tighten the lug nuts enough.
i pulled up to a toll booth, and saw my front tire go bouncing off in front of me. like something out of a cartoon.

when i called to tell them i would be late, they informed me that it was the wrong day. good thing, too, as it turned out to be a bit of an all day job to find a tire for a 30 yo jeep on a tiny little town. fortunately back then most stuff was ac/delco or other common suppliers and a tire from an old chevy truck worked fine.

anyway, is this an initial disability claim or a renewal? my former roommate was severely disabled and iirc, was able to apply over the phone. there was some mailing back and forth of docs, and medical info, but pretty sure she never had to go to the office.
had a long phone interview.

if you havent already gotten this advice- the big thing to focus on is how your problems affect the "activities of daily life". getting dressed, cooking, bathing, etc. make specific note of those things, as that is their measure.

good luck honey.

They will send a van to pick me up& bring me back for a reduced rate...tax dollars in action.
I was a nervous driver from the start, but it worse now. This is the first time in months that I have been downtown, my comfort area for driving is a mile to the grocery or 2 miles to the bank. I made it a point to drive through a nice area near the university, old big shade trees, people doing some serious flower gardens and dog walking. It was good.

I don't know why but when I am driving just a BIT out of my "comfort zone" I start to get anxious

... but yes, I am taking my meds.

Even though they suck and my doctor is yanking my chain.

Building social safety nets is important.

Without 'em I might be dead.

Danger-to-self is clearly my specialty, and it's hereditary, two grandpas and a grandma.

~hey just a bit~snark. Based on convo, I got hooked up with the psychiatrist....a honest to gosh MD psychiatrist. Those are almost unicorns of health care , esp for a mental health care clinic. I would not be able to have this If I didn't live in a blue city in a purple state with a major university twixt here & there.
Hey Hunter, keep safe my dear.
