Bi polar doc changed my prescription meds ? On side effects

Been about a month it is one 125 depakote in morning. And then 250 at night and as well a Paxil in the morning, and I swore off beer. I’ve noticed that I’m feeling even and am liking it no dips in mood just a steady emotional and mind a even feeling a steady calm as in my mind does not race. And I’m actually sleeping a lot better like a solid five hours straight. So my questions
1 my appetite has crashed as in really not hungry is this normal. I’ve gone from 163 in weight to 158 and I’m 72 inches is this no appetite normal
2 feeling kind of drowsy especially after the 250 dose
3 tremors in my hands my wife noticed these

I have read side effects on line but if anyone has dealt with these personally and can fill me in with advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Appetite will come back, drowsy is normal, depends on time of day you do the meds. irisblue Dec 2017 #1

Are those the only 2 meds you take? Depakote can cause hand tremors, those will continue as long as you are taking the medication.

You just started both of them at the same time?

I've only tried Paxil of those two and I did not notice any weight/appetite loss. I did feel calm and tiredness was a minor factor(you seem to attribute your drowsiness to the depakote, so may not be relevant). I went off Paxil after about a year because I felt emotionally dull as well as losing all sex drive/interest. I did not like Prozac either so I am apparently not a good candidate for SSRIs. Eventually, I went with Lithium for about a year (no side effects-except for slight tremor in my hands at times) and really have had no true manic episodes since--almost 20 years. I am not certain I am truly bipolar or certainly not of the chronic type. My guess is the appetite and drowsiness will probably pass as you acclimate to the drugs, the tremors might stick around though since that effect is less emotional and more neurological.

I have been fighting depression this past year or so and finally went to get some sort of treatment. Wellbutrin seems to get me out of bed in the morning so it is a start. I've lost some appetite but at only about 5 weeks of taking it, I figure give it a bit more time to see how that pans out(I'm very hungry some days so who can say); you may want to give yourself some more time as well since these types of drugs do take a while to reach full effect and also for your body to get used to them..
