Related: About this forumMy son lost his job because of the coronavirus
He's 24 and worked as a prep cook in a local restaurant. As far as we both know, he wasn't infected by being around lots of customers and co-workers. As far as we know. He will get his job back, hopefully, once this pandemic has eased.
He will probably run out of money in the next few weeks and have to come live with me, which is totally fine.
I'm going to see him tonight for in-home movie streaming and DoorDash food delivery. But, no hugs or handshakes.
I'd feel more at ease if it had been more than 14 days since he worked, but he's my son and I really need to see him.
I am sure all of you have a family member or friend in a very similar situation. I am just very grateful that my son and
I are still healthy and have adequate resources to ride this pandemic out together. Many families do not.
I wish all of you the best.

This crisis is going to ripple through our economy. That's why Trump is panicking and wants to send people back to work even if it means worsening the spread of the disease.
Consider the business I work in, entertainment. Broadway has closed down, idling actors musicians, stagehands, ushers and more. Then there are those ancillary workers who are affected: restaurants, hotels, taxis, agents and managers and more. That's thousands of people who can't work right now.
Then consider that California is basically shut down. That means that all television and motion picture productions are shut down. That's tens of thousands of more people who can't work.
Then extrapolate the same ripple effects throughout all the other industries in our country (and the world) and we're looking at a tremendous crashing of the economy.
Trump doesn't care if people get sick or die. He needs to hold onto power and continue his grifting.
