Weight Loss/Maintenance
Related: About this forum"The Overnight Diet" They are telling about it on ABC right now. Naturally,
there is a book about it. They are saying you eat high protein one day and liquid diet the next, and you will lose weight overnight.
I just looked on Amazon and the book is not released until tomorrow. I will probably buy it on my Kindle.
Anybody know anything about it?????

(17,276 posts)Unless you are willing to eat a certain way permanently, you will gain the weight back.
The only thing that works is a permanent change in your eating habits, and your exercise habits too. I am down 60 lbs from where I once was. I have about 30 left. I reduced my portions, stopped eating red meat, started exercising regularly ( that was eight years ago), reduced my portions some more, then two years ago went plant-based (with fish once in a while). I'm currently working on eating fewer starches and more salads.

(12,863 posts)everything you said: portion control, etc.
Anything I've ever read on eating says you can have all the fruits and veggies you want.
Unless you eat them raw or just boiled, this is not true. When I get through with them - cheese, etc. they are high in calories. That is the reason I'm thinking if I could do the liquid - and just hold my nose and drink it down - I wouldn't care if the veggies were not "dressed up" into a casserole, fried, or any way to make them fattening (and taste good.)
By the way, I was skinny - not just thin - all my life - then middle age spread set in. Now in old age, I am heavier than ever. I've always walked and now my knees hurt and I know it is the weight.
Didn't mean to blabber on - sorry
PS My spelling check is not working so this is probably illiterate.

(620 posts)everything one puts down the neck hole, not simply a new fad with a catchy title, or a fruit name, or a celebrity name.
Sensible portions to get proper nourishment and adequate exercise. Move more, eat less.
But on the other hand, fads sell stuff.

(12,863 posts)that I saw different was they want you to drink smoothies only for one day each week. They said you would lose two pounds over night. I ALWAYS weigh two-three pounds less in the morning than I did the night before.
Like you said - fads sell stuff.
