Long term Lifetime Weight Watchers Member here.......

I have been a Weight Watcher pretty much all my life or since December 1974 when I joined when 5 months pregnant with my daughter, then again with my son.

Over the years, I have gained and lost weight, often forgetting sight of what it all meant.
It did not dawn on me until 2013, that I needed to go back to Weight Watchers to re-earn my Lifetime membership and relearn things. I had lost my Mother early that year and I mourned her with food and not being active. I was at my heaviest at 208 pounds, Nothing was fitting and I had many events coming up where I would be in costume. June 3rd of 2013, I made the decision to go back to Weight Watchers and re-earn my Lifetime membership.

That first week of being back on plan was an eye opener to a healthier lifestyle. Not just relearning how to eat, but knowing how to regain control, to plan, to be accountable, to change from within, to take care of me. Weight Watchers saved my life. It took me 13 months to lose 53 pounds. I did not starve. I ate out a lot, drank wine, but I also stayed physically active, planned what I was having for meals and stuck to it. I attended my weekly meetings.

Now after 4+ years of having reached my goal and the WW Program improve to be even more flexible and doable, I am still going strong. I may be 5 pounds over my goal at present, but I still work at it. I still agttend 2 meetings a month. My clothes still fit the same. I eat more healthy, travel more, thus eating out more, keep very physically active, stay in control. I am in better shape at 66 than I was at 60. Because of certain Food allergies, I make the program work for me. I eat good lean protein, fruits, veggies, healthy fats, an occasional glass or two of wine, avoid major carbs, deep fried and fast foods. The only medications I take are for my eyes.

Weight Watchers is not a Diet, but a life style. What I do to maintain means more to me than what the scale says. I know my limits, avoid what I must, remain accountable, but the rewards have been enormous. My Internist could not be more pleased with my overall health. Because at my age, the quality of life and health are most important.

For if you have your health, you have everything.
