I found a German cookbook at a thrift shop.

I'm now learning to cook "German".

Tonight: braised a 3-1/2 lb fryer chicken in butter in a large pot, all sides. First coated inside and out with a combo of lemon juice and salt. Then in a 350 degree oven with lid until last 20 minutes.

I think I'm going to like this new cuisine.

And the best part: it's pretty easy preparation and cooking.

Also a dish called glace. You slice off chunks of your noodle dough into boiling water. When they're cooked, drain and toss in a generous amount of butter crumbs and top with cream. Oh man, that was one of my favorite dishes!
