What's for Dinner, Debate Night, Tues., Sept. 10, 2024

I'm snacking all evening long, starting NOW.

Among many items are cocktail shrimp with sauce.
Crackers and cheese, among them cheddar with truffles, gruyere.
Grilled vegetables, tossed with olive oil and herbs, in a pita.
A few more which I can't recall at the moment but I'll come back and add them when I think of them.

Kombucha: pineapple ginger.

So excited!!

out for his birthday dinner. We went to our local Mexican restaurant for Taco Tuesdays 🌮. It was his idea to go early. We normally don't eat this early and I know I'll get hungry again later. So I ordered two more tacos to go for later tonight.

Good Evening

I thawed a good sized chicken breast. I stir fried half with vegetables and spices, cooked some rice to go with that. Made a small pot of soup with barley with the rest. No cooking the rest of the week.

I had some ice cream.

I made chicken and wild rice casserole last night, and I made enough there'd be leftovers even with the Grandson here! So, we had that for supper, and I baked a butter pecan cake with cream cheese frosting for dessert. To wash it all down, and play debate bingo, hubby and I share a couple of bottles of Pirtles fine Mead. For a while, I felt no pain and was laughing hysterically during the debate. Kamala did so GOOD! And donny was just onto one of his tired old, over-done rally speeches, interspersed with under-the-breath remarks. The fact he could never look her in the eyes says a lot to me!

But chicken and wild rice casserole is comfort food... so no matter how the debate went, we were well fed with good food!

I was yelling stuff at trump and laughing a bit too loudly.

The mushroom casserole sounds so good.
