Just clipped arugula from a raised bed and will mix it with Boston leaf lettuce, red tip, and romaine for a tossed green salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, stuffed green olives, bits of salami, and parmesan cut into cubes.
Fennel seed salad dressing, homemade and using garden fennel seeds.
Stuffed green peppers. The stuffing is couscous, ground beef, chopped celery and onion, with cheddar cheese.
Dessert: a square or two of the Italian chocolate the RG sent me, along with hot peppermint tea.

(19,181 posts)My dad would make a salad similar to the one you made tonight. We'd have it when he grilled, always a wonderful meal for our family and a good memory

I made polenta and got a great deal on some prosciutto. So I will fry that a little crispy and have that on top with some Parmesan cheese and green onion.
Maybe some veggie spring rolls cuz I dont have much for fresh veg on hand.
La Coliniere
(997 posts)Using my German grandmothers recipe which I modify by using Just Eggs egg substitute. Will be using my camping stove and frying outside on my back porch in 25 degree weather because I dont like the mess of frying in peanut oil and it eliminates the indoor frying odors. Serving with homemade apple sauce, steamed Field Roast plant-based frankfurters, and sweet/sour red cabbage. Just finished grating the potatoes and onion. We only make these a couple times a year. Cheers! 🥂
