The roofers just arrived. I'm prepared for a very noisy day!

They got a whole lot done on Friday but couldn't work on Saturday, like they planned, because of rain. It's cold, today, but no precipitation so hopefully they get a whole lot MORE done.

My new picture windows are amazing. When I first saw the living room window, after it was installed, I thought there was no glass because the new glass is so amazingly clear. Admittedly, the old windows were the originals from 1967, so.......

after a really bad hail season the previous late summer. My current dog--never one to be overly concerned about thunder--still had it BAD with all the hammering. If you or your neighbors have dogs, I'd certainly suggest doggy daycare or a "thunder shirt" with perhaps a bit of sedative from your vet. Irritating for us to hear all the pounding, surely, but absolutely devastating to a lot of dogs.

The window installers were in and out of the house, all day, and I figured she'd go into hiding. However, I started to worry when the workers had been gone for well over an hour, and she hadn't reappeared. I actually made about 5 trips around the yard to make sure she didn't dart out the door, at some point, when the doors were being installed. She's a 100% indoor cat but who knows what she'd do if really frightened.

She FINALLY meandered out a good TWO plus hours after they left.

At least nobody will be coming and going, today, but I'm sure the noise is going to bother her. I'll give her a good treat, tonight.
