New arrivals

(Pacific NW - Seattle)

North-facing from fence - shade most of the day, a bit of late afternoon sun, maybe 2-3 hours. Near to far: Wide-Brim Hosta, Francee Hosta, Captain Kirk Hosta, Paul Revere Hosta. Just enough room for a bench after that under the Lilac tree.

Fingers crossed on the bench. $175, supposedly 790-lb capacity so it oughtta be sturdy. Rust is another matter though…

East side of house - maybe 4 hours morning/afternoon sun.

Near: “Passion Party” Lily of the Valley (3x6 box).

We have some hummingbirds, and we hope they’ll enjoy it.

Far: Daphne Odora (two in 3x8 box).

Have been battling Morning Glories in the box area. Put down 5” of 1/4”- crushed rock, will be topping off with some 3/8” crushed river rock over entire pathway which is new.

Hoping for easy maintenance……

Thanks for giving me the idea of getting a hosta. Maybe the "Captain Kirk" just because of the name.

I really like the bench too but I'm afraid this old body wouldn't take to it well.
