Related: About this forumAnts in my apple trees
Any advice on a non chemical way to keep them off? I've been knocking them off with the sprinkler, but they're right back when I remove the sprinkler.
Thank you,
Mog

(5,946 posts)1. if you don't have trees above yur apple tree that can drop ants on it
you can get a tape you put around a tree to stop the ants,. You have to replace it when it gets full, but the ants get stuck and cant' cross tothe upper end.
Is it a special tape intended for just that purpose, or can I just wrap duct tape around the bases sticky side out?

(5,946 posts)3. it is a special tape to keep ants and caterpillars out of trees.
I have carpenter ants and they chew the trees up, I also used to have gypsy moths.
You can get it at any garden store, it is not expensive.
