February 7, 2026 - Today is Holly's birthday!
She is 15 years old! I adopted her and Martini on December 30, 2011 when she was 10 months old and Martini was five months old. They were in the same enclosure at Petsmart. I suspect that she was feral; she was absolutely terrified of me and wouldn't come within 10 feet of me for years. I'm not exaggerating. It took a lot of time and a lot of patience but she eventually learned to trust me. I never would've believed it in a million years. She has turned into the most wonderful cat. I've mentioned this before: in the past few months, she has even come and laid on top of me while I'm lying on the couch, which is pretty miraculous considering.
She's on veterinary food, but other than that, she's doing pretty well. She still loves catnip, scritches and treats and sometimes she even plays like a kitten!
Happy Birthday, my sweet baby cat. Thank you for the joy and happiness you've brought into my life. I will always love you.

I am so happy to hear that Tiger will be 16. That's a long time for any cat, but especially a feral. Thank you for taking such good care of him (I've read your posts about him and you take excellent care of him). He's a lucky cat to have you and you're a lucky person to have him. Truly a match made in Heaven.

When I was scrolling down to your post, I went right past your name straight to the picture and I thought "My God, that cat looks like Holly!" Maybe because it is Holly! Ha ha ha ha.
OMG! I showed the picture to Holly and she turned her head to the right, so I put it in front of her again and she turned around and glared at me, like "what the hell is wrong with you?" It cracked me up. If looks could kill...
Y'know, we're gonna have to come up with another image of Martini for her birthday. Unless this will do ~
