(96,471 posts)When Mikey lived here, he noticed the indoor kitty across the driveway, they could see each other while sitting in their respective windows. But when Mikey went out, he would go and sit under the window the other cat was sitting in. They would sit there and stare at each other for hours. They never met without the barrier. Now that Mikey is elsewhere, his real home, she is now an outdoor kitty. She comes over and sits on my porch and looks like she's waiting for him. I keep a bowl of water for her out there.
She even found her way into my house a couple weeks ago and looked all over for him. I wish I could give them some play time together. But I am sure they had a full dialogue going on that, I regret, was interrupted.

(35,458 posts)My SO went down to Ohio to help her friend with cancer during the last weeks of her life. She had 5 cats in the house between her and her partner. For 2 weeks my girl never saw Cleo because she was hiding from the big male cat. She hid underneath a big recliner.
A few days before she died she told my SO how she was really worried about what will happen to Cleo. My honey told her not to worry as she would take her home, even though she had never seen the cat. She explained to her that I’m really good with cats.
Well sure enough, that cat came right over to me and decided she was my cat. She stares at me all day and spends most it on my lap. At night she sleeps against my shoulder. I think I’m the first human male she has ever lived with and claimed me.
Our little pup loves mom and Cleo loves me.
I get the feeling she doesn’t miss other cats at all. She’s the purrfect cat. Only scratches her kitty post and always uses her litter box. And there she is staring at me.
