I guess it's her amp now. She loves being up there. I was going to take it down and put back in the other room, but now I have to wait until she finds a new hang out spot. She goes through phases. She's a portly little girl due to all the cortisol shots she's had to endure over the years. She has some sort of auto-immune problem that causes her to scratch herself bloody. The shots are the only thing that seem to work. We did take her to a vet that specializes in dermatology when she was about a year old, but they really didn't know what was wrong with her either. In spite of this, she is as sweet as can be.

(17,565 posts)We had a beagle who developed bad food allergies to common foods like meats and grains. He was scratching himself raw and started having bloody stools. The vet put him on royal canine hypoallergenic food, it has no animal proteins and uses pea protein and odd carbs instead. I know they make one for cats.

(3,026 posts)The problem when she was young was that she would only eat when everyone else was eating and she would not eat the special food that we got her. The original meds were of no help either. They came in this liquid gel cap that was too large for her to swallow and cutting it up or crushing it into food wasn't an option either. The most consistently reliable treatment has been the cortisol shots every 6-8 weeks. Our vet added acupuncture with B-12 on her last visit. She didn't like it much, but when she got home she was the most relaxed we've seen her in a long time. We have her two brothers/litter mates. They have a touch of the same thing and her feral mom had it too. She's doing fine in spite of it all. She purrs a lot and spends plenty of time in my lap too. We've been dealing with this for about 5 years now. Our vet is really sweet and she just charges us for the shots. We've spent a small fortune with her over the last ten years or so, so she takes care of us. We used to have 3 large dogs and about 8 cats at one point. Now we're just down to 3 cats. All the other ones got old and crossed over the rainbow bridge.

(3,905 posts)Any time I have to bring it home Izzy loves to stretch out on top of it. So when I bought a tiny Acoustic practice amp it seemed like she saw the brand name and thought it was the big bed. 🤣
Not quite the same fit! 🤣

(3,026 posts)They were really old so the second one was just a back up. Part of me wishes I still had one, but then Steven Wright whispers in my ear, "you can't have everything. Where would you put it?"
