Look what the dog dragged in.......(no pics, but graphic written content ahead).

A couple of days ago, I caught the Skippa, my adolescent Golden Retriever. chewing on a 4-5" patch of pure white fur and skin. Fresh rabbit kill, flesh on skin still red. Today, he tried to bring in the entire head, Pretty well intact. Had black ears and nose, Eyes intact.

The Skippa ain't no hunter. If he came across this rabbit, he'd want to play with it. I suspect it was a field kill behind my house. Either, a hawk, coyote, or fox most likely. What I don't want is him eating dead animals that he comes across....I had one emergency trip to the vets 2 months ago for stuck turkey bones, I believe. I'm bordering on 400 acres of Scott paper woodlots and another 3500 acres of private land....lotta wildlife in the area.

He roams free, but is in the woods or fields, well away from the town road.

Always has something....usually a stick or wood from my kindling pile. His toys go in and out. But I draw the line on dead animals.
