Pets
Related: About this forumJust about every morning, this week, Carys has come out to ask for pets and scritches
She even asked me for some banana bread so I gave her a little taste.
She likes to sit on the table that's next to me and grooms. I don't push for contact. I just watch for certain little signs I'm learning.
And she spends a lot of time on the fireplace mantel, looking out the window that's next to it. It's not far from my chair. Maybe with her being out of hiding, more often, she sees how the boys and I interact and she's getting more comfortable.
I'm not getting my hopes up too high because her tendency is still to be pretty reclusive. I just relish the time she gives me.

Maybe your vibes have calmed down a little and that was why she was wary before. Could have been that you needed better care and she didn't know how to handle it. Maybe?
Regardless, it's great that she is approaching you for affection.

If the boys are less concerned then that is further indication they were sensing your stress and anxiety.

(27,325 posts)One of the medications can take 2 to 4 weeks to really become effective and one makes me a little lightheaded but that passes so I know how to arrange my mornings around it.
I figured the anxiety meds would take a few weeks to really kick in.
At least you're starting to feel better, the kitties can tell.
